Suno 5: a full song from a text description
Suno differs from background-music generators in one way: it sings. What comes out isn't a mood-matched instrumental, but a track with words, verses, and a chorus - what people actually call a song. The fifth version pushed vocals to a solid level: the lyrics come through clearly, the voice doesn't drift between lines, and the chorus sounds like a chorus instead of a repeat of the same verse.
Two ways to start
The first is to hand the model a theme. "Upbeat pop song for a birthday," "mellow indie rock about autumn in the city" - it will write the lyrics itself, and for a greeting that's usually enough.
The second is to bring your own lyrics. Then the model's job comes down to melody, arrangement, and performance, while the words stay yours. This is a working setup for anyone who writes lyrics or poetry and wants to hear them performed without hiring musicians.
What to include in your prompt
Genre, tempo, male or female vocals, language, and mood - these five parameters are enough to stop the result from being a lottery. The more specific the description, the closer the first take lands to what you imagined: "slow lyrical ballad, female vocals, piano and strings" gives a predictable result, while "a beautiful song" gives a random one.
Generation usually returns several variants. That's not redundancy: the best melody often turns up in the second or third take, and picking from a few is faster than regenerating one at a time.
Versions, and when you need the fifth
V5 isn't the only version available. The earlier V4.5 and V4 cost less and work fine for a draft: checking that the lyrics fit the length, hearing whether they land on the beat. The difference shows up in the final version - where clean vocals and smooth transitions matter. A practical order: drafts on the earlier version, the final take on V5.
