How to remove a watermark from a photo
Let's start with the ground rule, because it matters more here than the technique. A watermark exists to mark authorship. Removing one from someone else's image to pass it off as your own violates the author's rights, and no tool makes that okay.
There are plenty of legitimate scenarios, though: your own mark on your own work that needs to come off for a layout; a date burned in by an old camera on family photos; a photographer's signature on a photo you bought from them; text and stickers on a product photo you took yourself.
How it works
The model doesn't "erase" the text - it reconstructs what it believes was underneath it. That's why the result's quality depends on this: the more uniform the background under the mark, the less noticeable the edit.
A small logo in the corner of a sky or a plain wall disappears without a trace. A semi-transparent mark covering half the frame, sitting over a face or text, is a harder case: there are details underneath that the model never saw, and it has to guess at them.
What to include in your request
It helps to say exactly where the mark is: "in the bottom-right corner," "in the center of the frame." That narrows the area to edit and lowers the risk that the model "fixes" something else along the way. It's also worth adding that nothing else should be touched.
What to check in the result
The edges of the area where the mark was, and the fine texture around it. On brickwork, grass, text, and hair, the reconstruction is most noticeable. If a trace is visible, a follow-up request with more detail usually helps - for example, asking it to rebuild a specific area more carefully.
